Diana Victor has been with This is that since its inception in 2002. She came to the company with partners Anne Carey and Ted Hope, and former This is that partner Anthony Bregman. Diana was previously at Good Machine, where she joined as Vice President of Business Affairs in November, 1999. Diana was instrumental in overseeing Good Machine’s transaction with Universal in July, 2002, which resulted in the sale of the company and formation of This is that.
Diana’s primary role at This is that is to manage all business affairs and legal transactions related to the company, including the development, financing and production deals for This is that’s films. In addition, Diana is responsible for overseeing company operations and spearheading This is that’s business development and strategic relationships in close counsel with This is that’s representative at United Talent Agency, Richard Klubeck.
In January, 2004, This is that entered into ground- breaking Output deals with international blue chip distributors Svensk Filmindustri in Scandinavia, and Village Roadshow in Australia / New Zealand. These strategic relationships signified This is that’s prestige in the international community. In May, 2005, after a successful three year first-look deal with Focus Features, during which time Focus distributed This is that’s films including 21 GRAMS, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and THE DOOR IN THE FLOOR, Diana represented This is that in negotiating a three year renewal of the deal.
In addition to This is that’s strategic relationships, Diana has negotiated financing deals with top equity fi-nanciers including Mark Cuban / Todd Wagner’s 2929 Entertainment (THE EX), Bob Yari Productions (THUMBSUCKER) and Steven Rales’ film financing company Indian Paintbrush (TOWELHEAD F/K/A UNTITLED ALAN BALL 2006). She has been integral in negotiating the studio financing / distribution deals for This is that’s films including ADVENTURELAND (Miramax), THE SAVAGES (Fox Searchlight), CARRIERS (Paramount Vantage), FRIENDS WITH MONEY (Sony Pictures Classics) and A DIRTY SHAME (New Line Cinema).
Prior to joining Good Machine, Diana worked in the Business and Legal Affairs department of Golden Books Entertainment managing the Shari Lewis library and acting as lead business affairs executive on the television series "The Charlie Horse Music Pizza" which aired on PBS. Before Golden Books, Diana worked at the television network NBC, first for NBC Law Department’s Corporate Transaction Group and then as Manager, Business Affairs for NBC Enterprises, handling transactions related to the international and domestic distribution of NBC owned programming.
Diana graduated with a B.A. in Communications from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She then worked in advertising and music production before attending Fordham University School of Law. Diana is a member of the New York State Bar.
